TS Resolute Bed and Breakfast
Harbourside Cabin Stay – Simple, Quiet, and Unhurried

This is a straightforward, self-led stay for anyone who wants a bit of peace by the water. Step aboard TS Resolute, a moored ship on Chichester Harbour, it’s a comfortable base where you can slow down, read, walk, or just spend time doing very little.

There’s no schedule to follow. Breakfast is provided each morning between 8:00 and 9:30am, hot drinks are available throughout your stay, and the rest of the time is yours to use as you like - whether that’s sitting in the shared spaces, getting some fresh air on the grounds, or turning in early.

Cabins are ensuite and sleep up to four people, making it a good option for couples, friends, or small groups looking for a low-key break.

It also works well as a base for the 'Goodwood Festival of Speed', located around 9 miles away (roughly a 20-minute drive from CYE). You can easily get to the event during the day and return to somewhere quieter in the evening.

Each stay includes your own ensuite cabin, access to shared onboard spaces and the surrounding grounds, and hot drinks throughout. A continental breakfast is provided on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

This is a quiet, relaxation-focused weekend. There are no activities, and launching watercraft from the jetty isn’t available. The site is non-smoking and alcohol-free, which helps keep the atmosphere calm. Cabin doors do not lock, but free lockers are available for valuables. A member of staff is on site between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with support on call outside those hours.

The price is £250 per cabin, with space for up to four guests. You can book one place and use the code CABINBUDDY to add up to three additional guests.

Optional packed lunches are available at an extra cost if you’d prefer to stay on site during the day.

Saturday Quiet Day
A quiet day aboard Resolute is an opportunity to step aside and spend time at the waters edge, where land meets sea - a place of change and nourishment. The ebbing and flowing of the tide lends a natural rhythm to the day and helps us recover our own natural rhythm.
The day is spent in silence. Various optional resources are available to help make the most of your day including a range of contemplative poems and texts and one-to-one time with an experienced listener.
The coastal path is available for easy walks from the ship and there will be an opportunity to experience a pilgrimage walk.
The day ends with a time of shared reflection - a chance to still ourselves before we return to our every day

Sunday Quiet Day
Gathered in Silence: A Contemplative Day for Christian Meditators

This day retreat is offered for those with an established meditative prayer practice — such as Centering Prayer, Christian Meditation, or Christian mindfulness. It will not provide instruction in these methods; rather, it is an invitation to enter into sustained shared silence with others who are accustomed to contemplative prayer.

Morning Prayer will include 50 minutes of shared silence, broken halfway by a slow, mindful walk around the chapel. Afternoon prayer will follow the same pattern. These periods offer generous space for the heart to rest in God beyond words and concepts.

Between morning and afternoon prayer we will continue to hold the silence during unstructured time for reflection. Participants may choose to quietly rest in stillness gazing across the harbour, walk the shoreline path giving quiet attentiveness to creation, pray with scripture through lectio divina, journal, draw etc. A simple vegetarian lunch will be shared at the middle of the day.

We will be using the chapel at CYE for part of the day. This space is situated upstairs and accessed by a flight of stairs; those with limited mobility may wish to take this into account when considering booking.

Retreat weekend
Shared Cabin Discount available!

Do you find that the busyness of life makes it hard for you to connect with God?

To hear God’s voice, we must learn to silence the noise of our distracted lives, slow down and listen intentionally to what the Spirit may be saying. Our retreat weekend will create space for you to encounter Jesus anew.

We will hold a safe space to explore ancient contemplative practices such as Lectio Davina and Examen. We’ll learn to engage our imagination and senses as we create a quiet space to listen to the still, small voice of God.

Whether this is your first retreat or your hundredth, whether you're in your twenties, thirties, or beyond, we warmly invite you to explore if this weekend could be beneficial for you. Retreats are open to everyone and can provide meaningful experiences at all life stages, particularly for those new to this kind of space or looking to rediscover their faith’s direction.

Ralph Buckingham will be leading our retreat. He has a rich background, having worked at CYE in the 90s and 2000s, taught at an international Christian school in India, and dedicated many years to working in a local church. Currently, Ralph serves as a spiritual director, guiding others on their faith journeys.

The all-inclusive price for an individual cabin is £155.
