At CYE, play is priority! When families spend time here together they have a chance to grow in new ways. Relationships blossom as the pressure of the day-to-day is replaced with adventurous activities led by a life-filled team of instructors.

We had a fantastic weekend, spending time as family doing new activities.  We enjoyed meeting new people and our daughter made new buddies. The staff were all lovely and super helpful.

Our fantastic accommodation vessel, TS Resolute, is available to hire throughout the winter. It sleeps 50 people, one group at a time – so team up with some other families for an unforgettable weekend!

Let us put your mind at rest.  Please do get in touch if you have any other questions.

There are some things I need you to know about my child before they come to CYE (medical/need to know/bedwetting/allergies/SEND information). How is it best to share this information with you?

For your child to have the best and safest time possible with us, it is important that you alert us to anything you think we need to know about their needs. There are very few things that we haven't come across before and our staff are excellent at discreetly supporting, encouraging and keeping an eye out for whatever help is needed.

Can I drop my child off a little before the start of the course/event?

Sorry but this is not possible. We cannot look after children outside of event hours unless under exceptional circumstances and with prior agreement. If you arrive early you can wait in the car or we can highly recommend a walk around to Cobnor Point along the coastal path – walk out of the car park and you will see a public footpath sign on your left, follow this!

My child has food they don't like/won't eat, what will happen at mealtimes to cater for them?

We have an amazing catering team who produce delicious, child-friendly, fresh food. Whilst we will always accommodate dietary requirements (allergies, vegetarian, vegan etc) we cannot accommodate individual preferences. The variety within each meal should mean that even the fussiest of eaters will be catered for.

Can my child use their phone during their stay?

To help all young people get the most out of their time at CYE, we ask that mobile phones are not brought with them. If a phone is brought, it will be collected on arrival and stored securely in the office for the duration of the stay. This helps everyone switch off from digital distractions, enjoy face-to-face friendships, and fully take part in all that's on offer at CYE. You can call the office/out of hours phone if you need to contact your child during their time with us. In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will contact you directly.

Why do you charge fees for activities and why have they increased?

CYE is a not-for-profit charity. While we receive financial donations from generous supporters, and through grants from trusts, we are unable to cover the cost of running CYE using these gifts alone. Each year we need to ensure we cover the remaining costs which include training, insurance, equipment, site maintenance, staffing, kit replenishment, as well as food, electricity and all the other costs which go with providing excellent quality events. We try to keep these fees as low as possible. Please be reassured that we only increase our fees so we can ensure our site, staff and equipment offer you and all our guests an irresistible and unique experience.

Are your staff DBS checked?

Yes, all staff and volunteers are DBS checked. If you would like to discuss anything to do with our Child Protection Policy, please contact the office.
