Every October we celebrate the words that inspire everything we do:"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" - John 10:10.
CYE 10:10 is our annual fundraising adventure. Each year we invite people in our community to step out of their comfort zone, take on a challenge and help more children and young people experience the confidence, belonging, joy and hope that CYE is all about.
The focus of our fundraising is for our bursary fund, making sure cost is never the reason someone misses out on the adventure.
THIS YEAR'S EVENT
This year we're hosting a whole day of fundraising challenges on
Saturday 10th October 2026
You can join in with the fun run, gather a team to make a cardboard boat and then race it in the harbour, or bring your friends to take on a raft race challenge.
Click here to find out how to sign up
If the adventure challenge is a bit too much of a stretch for you this time, you're welcome to come along on the day to bring your support and enjoy refreshments from Cafe Resolute plus activities and fun from 10am until 4pm.

The weekend will involve plenty of time to be outdoors - activities such as surfing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking and coasteering are on offer, as well as walks, beaches, fire pits, pub trips and coffee shop stops. We'll also have a speaker and times to pray and worship together. It's a great weekend that usually sells out, so get in there quick so we can hang out together in Devon!
The cost is £112pp which includes your accommodation, all your food and one sports activity on Saturday. You can also choose to do an extra sports activity on Saturday for an additional £27, (pay on booking or on the event). There will be some other free options too.
STUDENT DISCOUNT! If you are currently in full time education, enter the code UNI=NODOSH to receive a 40% discount on the cost of the event. Bring your NUS card to the event.
Please do contact us about our bursary if the cost is a barrier for you.
The day is spent in silence. Various optional resources are available to help make the most of your day including a range of contemplative poems and texts and one-to-one time with an experienced listener.
The coastal path is available for easy walks from the ship and there will be an opportunity to experience a pilgrimage walk.
The day ends with a time of shared reflection - a chance to still ourselves before we return to our every day
This day retreat is offered for those with an established meditative prayer practice — such as Centering Prayer, Christian Meditation, or Christian mindfulness. It will not provide instruction in these methods; rather, it is an invitation to enter into sustained shared silence with others who are accustomed to contemplative prayer.
Morning Prayer will include 50 minutes of shared silence, broken halfway by a slow, mindful walk around the chapel. Afternoon prayer will follow the same pattern. These periods offer generous space for the heart to rest in God beyond words and concepts.
Between morning and afternoon prayer we will continue to hold the silence during unstructured time for reflection. Participants may choose to quietly rest in stillness gazing across the harbour, walk the shoreline path giving quiet attentiveness to creation, pray with scripture through lectio divina, journal, draw etc. A simple vegetarian lunch will be shared at the middle of the day.
We will be using the chapel at CYE for part of the day. This space is situated upstairs and accessed by a flight of stairs; those with limited mobility may wish to take this into account when considering booking.

Jesus once asked the question, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?”
If he asked you the same question, how would you answer?
If your answer is yes, maybe you’d benefit from an opportunity to step away from the burdens and distractions of everyday life, or even the busyness of church life?
“Come to me,” says Jesus. ”Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11, The Message)
Join us for a weekend retreat. Together we will seek to learn Jesus’ unforced rhythms of grace. We will explore ancient contemplative practices that will help deepen our union with Jesus and learn to rest in him. We’ll drop deeper into his promise of life to the full.
Ralph Buckingham will be leading our retreat with Abigail Emsley.
Ralph has a rich background, having worked at CYE in the 90s and 2000s, taught at an international Christian school in India, and dedicated many years to working in a local church. Currently, Ralph serves as a spiritual director, guiding others on their faith journeys. Abigail is currently training to be a spiritual director and is experienced in supporting and working with groups and individuals of all ages.
The all-inclusive price for an individual cabin is £155.
Those willing to share a cabin with one other guest, use the discount code SHARE2 to receive £60 off.
This is a fundraiser evening so there will be other opportunities within the evening to donate to the work of CYE. We will contact the team leaders who book with more information about the evening in due course.
Nibbles will be provided but you're welcome to bring more drinks and snacks - alcohol will be permitted.
Let the games begin!

Come ready for a day packed full of summer camp madness... in the middle of winter!
There will be games, challenges, cake and a campfire as well as plenty of opportunities to catch up with friends. We'll also make sure we have time to listen to a short talk and pray together at the start of a New Year.
