[CYE] Christian Youth Enterprises

Welcome to Christian Youth Enterprises Sailing Centre

Changing lives through adventure - come and share the adventure

Christian Youth Enterprises Sailing Centre (CYESC) is a multi-activity residential centre which caters for children, young people and adults of all abilities. Our particular passion and expertise centres on watersports and, as a recognised Royal Yachting Association Training Centre and British Canoe Union Approved Centre, we make the most of our privileged location in the stunning surroundings of Chichester Harbour.

We are a Christian charitable organisation, committed to the delivery of safe, challenging and professionally-run activity programmes. All of our employees and volunteers share a belief in the Christian faith, and all share a passion for creating memorable and exciting experiences for each and every guest we look after.

Our location is within a beautiful, private, country estate surrounded by the South Downs National Park to the north and the Bosham Channel to the south. This tranquil backdrop combined with quality accommodation, an extensive fleet of boats and a dedicated staff team, means that we provide unique and diverse programmes to develop young people and adults physically, mentally and spiritually.

All change!

The Merry-Go-Round keeps turning here as we continue to say farewell to members of staff and to welcome new faces to the team.

Chris Adams left us in January to work for the RNLI at their Head Office in Poole where he will be looking into the prevention of accidents at sea. Over a curry in Bosham, colleagues past and present met up to say Goodbye and God Speed, to recognise the time, energy and skills Chris has invested in CYE over the years and to recall (much to his dismay) incidents involving (variously) bikes, fire engines, peas and tango bottles.

Jake has once more re-organised the cottage interior – this time to accommodate our new SI Doug Percy, who joined us at the beginning of January. Doug hit the ground running and has been busy helping with staff training and fleet maintenance in readiness for our coming season.

We also said goodbye to Jackie Duggua at Christmas, who had been with us for 2 ½ years giving invaluable support to Duncan in the office.  Joining us on a part-time basis is Rachel McLeish who will be helping Denise in the galley over the busy summer season.

Our CYE pets have been affected by similar changes! Chris’s departure meant that we also lost Bam, our centre sheepdog, who spent her time here either guarding the back gate, playing with the hose or placing balls of any description strategically around the field and lying in wait for them to be kicked. When Bam left, Nala briefly enjoyed her role of ‘CYE topdog’ but has now been joined by upstart Harris and is being given a run for her money.
