Support Us
Support comes in many ways. If you would like to support us in a practical way, we have an extensive volunteers’ network which utilises the gifts and talents of many people throughout the year in various different ways. The Volunteering page gives you more information on how you can support CYE with your time and talents.
Prayer
As a Christian organisation, we very much believe in the power of prayer. This really does underpin everything that we do at CYE and we collectively believe that God looks after and provides for us. This has been clearly evident over the past 37+ years. There are always specific things that we need prayer about so sign up for our monthly newsletter, Prayer Essentials, here. (Select ‘News and Updates’)
Financial
We are heavily reliant on financial donations and we are hugely grateful for those who already donate.
You can give to our ‘core work, ‘bursary fund’ or with a legacy donation – click here for more information.
You can give regularly or as a one-off donation via a bank transfer or through Stewardship.
CORE WORK
You can give a one-off donation through a bank transfer or by setting up a standing order. This means

easier for more people to access all that we offer at CYE. Find out more about CYE bursaries here.

CYE 10:10
For the week around 10th October each year we hold special fundraising events – remembering one of our favourite verses ‘…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’ John 10:10.
In October 2024 we held our second Sponsored Open Swim, and we’re so excited that we’ll be hosting our third event in 2025.
On 11th October we’re jumping back into the water to raise money for our Bursary Fund. There are heats for lots of ages and abilities so that lots of people can get involved. All the heats will take place in the Bosham Channel and will finish at TS Resolute where there’ll be a whole host of supporters cheering the swimmers on (and probably enjoying CYE tea and cake).

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
All of the money raised for CYE 10:10 will be going into our Bursary Fund. It’s incredibly important to us that we make all of the activities and events we have to offer at CYE available to as many people as possible. It’s our heart to reduce the potential financial barrier for those who want to come along. Applications to access bursary awards are reviewed by our trustees who award them based on the specific needs of each person.
This year we’re aiming to raise £14,000 which is enough to enable 100 people to come to CYE who wouldn’t otherwise have been able to be here – that’s 100 more people invited into life-changing moments – incredible!
So – do you fancy getting involved and helping us to reach our target?
Here is a table of the swimming heats that will be taking place this year. They’ll take place between 10am and 4pm, and specific heat times will be announced closer to the date (and probably won’t be in the same order as below). A warm up session will be provided an hour before your heat time and it’ll be essential that you take part in this.
EVENT NAME | AVERAGE SWIM TIME | AGE (YEARS) |
Heat 1, Adult 500m | 16+ | |
Heat 2, Adult 1km | 16+ | |
Heat 3, Adult 1.5km | 30 – 45 mins | 16+ |
Heat 4, Adult 3km | 60 – 75 mins | 16+ |
Heat 5, Mini junior 100m | 6+ | |
Heat 6, Junior 500m | 20 mins | 8-16 |
Heat 7, Junior 1km | 45 – 60 mins | 8-16 |
Heat 8, Junior 1.5km | 8-16 |
FEE OPTION TO TAKE PART
This year we’re opening up the option for participants to pay a fee of £65 to take part. This will cover the cost of the event (£15) plus £50 for our Bursary Fund. There will be no requirement from fee-paying participants to raise any sponsorship money.
INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING TARGETS
This option means that participants will pay a £15 entrance fee up front, to cover the cost of the event which includes a swimming hat that you’ll need to wear during the event for safety reasons. Then we will ask you to raise a minimum amount according to your age as part of the challenge. Over 16s: £250, 8 – 16s: £100 and under 8s: £50. Please find information below about how to collect sponsorship.
So, are you up for it?
NOT SWIMMING THIS TIME?
We totally understand, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be left out of the fun.
BE A SUPPORTER – We’re really going to make a day of it on 11th October and we’d love it if you could come and support the swimmers and join the fun. We’ll be holding a cafe on TS Resolute from 9.30am – 4.30pm, where you can buy drinks and cake, soup and rolls. The cafe will be open alongside craft activities, stalls in our micro-business market (please let us know if you’d like to hold a stall), sports challenges and more. So, bring your family and friends, plus some pennies to spend. We’ll also be running tunnelling and assault course activities between 10am and 4pm which will be bookable on the day for ages 6 – 16.
SWIMMERS – READ BELOW
We’re so grateful for those who are stepping up to the challenge, we know you’re set to have a great time being involved, AND you get to be a part of the growth of the amazing work that goes on here at CYE all year round – bringing life to the full to as many people as we can!
Check out the information here about swimming in open water – especially if it’s your first time.
Have a look here for more details about the fundraising side of things – you’ll need to set yourself up a fundraising page with stewardship.org.uk – we won’t be able to collect money through other routes.
