Christmas Assemblies

Festive joy

Each year, we prepare an assembly presentation to share the Christmas message. During the final two weeks of the Autumn term we deliver these at schools who come to CYE residentials and other schools across West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. We can also visit schools at other times of the year to deliver assemblies and RE lessons by request.

Engaging discussion

Delivered by young people, our assembly messages always spark laughter, debate and enthusiasm. Use the enquiry form above to see if we can come and visit your school.

ACTIVITIES

Developing skills beyond the classroom

Over 1,000 pupils and their teachers visit CYE for school residential trips each year.

School groups experience a learning environment here that just isn't available in the classroom. Our adventurous activities on the land and water give real-life opportunities for children to face obstacles, overcome fears, grow in confidence and support each other along the way. Throw in lively instructors, games galore, the sharing of home cooked food and spiritual input from our team who are grounded in the Christian faith, and you have all the ingredients for lasting impact.

Alongside meeting the shared goals of a whole group, we place great value on getting to know every child individually. We adapt the CYE experience to meet the needs of each child and encourage them to celebrate their achievements. We love to help young people to access their own 'learning edge' - the boundary between the known and the unknown - and it's our hope to be able to help each one to stretch themselves in our safe and supportive environment.

No wonder schools return year after year.

The impact is clear - children go home with greater confidence, resilience and self-belief. For so many young people, CYE offers a rare opportunity to belong, to be encouraged and to be seen, whatever their life circumstances. Alongside adventure and achievement, the space here is intentionally shaped for reflection, wellbeing and spiritual journey, helping every child discover not only what they can do, but who they are becoming.

"The team’s organisation, care, patience, fun, expertise and really getting to know every child individually has been very much appreciated. We honestly don't know how you guys do it"

“When I’m here at CYE, I feel more connected to God.”

"The one thing that made such a difference, and which they have spoken about the most, was the kindness of the leaders in the discussion groups."

Parent of camper

"I really enjoyed it when we went sailing as it felt good to be out on the sea and learning how to sail. I also enjoyed tunnelling and crawling through small spaces"

Brooke, year 6

“All of the activities are fun, especially as the staff make it fun. My favourite thing was sailing as we got to lean out of the boat”

Clara, year 6

"The team were incredible and engaged the children so well. So many of them commented how this was the best week of their lives!"

FAQs

Let us put your mind at rest. Please do get in touch if you have any other questions.

Are your staff DBS checked?

Yes, all staff and volunteers are DBS checked. If you would like to discuss anything to do with our Child Protection Policy, please contact the office.

What shall I/my child bring when they go to CYE?

There's no need to go out and spend lots of money buying new equipment and clothing. We have a full kit list of what you need to bring here. We provide specific things such as wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and waterproofs. Please do call us if you have any questions about kit.

My child can't swim, how will you make sure they're safe?

We require that children and staff alike MUST wear a properly fitting buoyancy aid before being allowed near the water (from the jetty onwards). Buoyancy aids will keep a person completely afloat until they are attended to, regardless of whether they can swim or not. If your child has any concerns over being on the water, let us know beforehand and we will make sure that both you and they are reassured and communicated with accordingly.

My child left something behind after their visit to CYE. Can you help?

We keep lost property items for a maximum of 1 week before giving them to charity. In order to return them we ask you to arrange a collection using the Royal Mail website. They will be able to collect the item from CYE and get it to you. Please contact the office to arrange this.

When you say there'll be some 'Christian content' what does this mean?

Christian Youth Enterprises is a Christian charitable organisation. Everyone who works at the Centre (and board of Trustees) shares the Christian faith. Whilst we believe that this is the foundation to what we do and why we do it, we are understanding and respectful of everyone's beliefs and views, whatever these are. Our aim is to share what we believe with our guests in a relevant, engaging and exciting way and encourage our guests to think about and share what they believe too.

Can someone other than me pick up my child?

Yes. We will need written confirmation from the child's parents / guardian so that we can sign them out at the end of the event.
