launch into bigger adventures
Blaze takes everything up a notch. This action-packed week is designed for 12-15 year olds who want to push themselves, try new things and have the time of their lives. With sailing, raft building, kayaking, archery tag, tunnelling, football and more - we pack as much as possible into every day, all tied together by this year's exciting theme.
There are lots of blaze events on each year, giving more young people the chance to experience the atmosphere at CYE - there's nowhere quite like it. You'll be out on the water, tackling challenges on land and enjoying the freedom to choose your own adventure throughout the week.
Evenings bring a different pace. Gather round the campfire, chill with new friends and hear from inspirational speakers who give relevant, challenging talks about the Gospel. These aren't stuffy sermons, they're honest, thought-provoking messages that connect faith to the real issues you're facing as a young person today. Discussion groups give you space to ask the big questions and dig deeper into what you believe.
Whether you're questioning faith, committed to following Jesus or somewhere in between, Blaze welcomes you exactly as you are. This is where lasting friendships are forged, confidence is built and faith becomes real.

Choose Your Own Adventure
At Blaze, you have the freedom to shape your own week. Want to spend every moment on the water? Go for it. Prefer land-based activities? That works too. Our experienced instructors adapt sessions to suit everyone – from complete beginners to those ready for high-adrenaline challenges. It's your camp, your choices.

Real Conversations About Faith
Every evening features a relaxed talk from a speaker who gets what it's like to be a teenager today. They tackle real questions about God, purpose, identity and living out faith in the modern world. Follow-up discussions in small groups give you space to process, question and share honestly with people who actually listen.

FAQs
Let us put your mind at rest. Please do get in touch if you have any other questions.
We require that children and staff alike MUST wear a properly fitting buoyancy aid before being allowed near the water (from the jetty onwards). Buoyancy aids will keep a person completely afloat until they are attended to, regardless of whether they can swim or not. If your child has any concerns over being on the water, let us know beforehand and we will make sure that both you and they are reassured and communicated with accordingly.
Yes. We will need written confirmation from the child's parents / guardian so that we can sign them out at the end of the event.
If it's a residential stay they will still benefit hugely from being away with their friends. We will accommodate them as much as possible to ensure that they still get the full CYE experience. For example, a child with an arm in plaster might accompany one of the instructors in a Safety boat for the afternoon. If your child is on a specific sailing or paddling course and their injury means they cannot participate, please call us to discuss the options (most likely we'll offer for you to defer their place to another course)
If they come with an organised group (school, youth group etc.) then any insurance will be arranged by the group prior to booking. If the child attends one of CYE's calendar events then the Centre has a £10m Public Liability policy in force – details of which are available upon request. Since personal belongings aren't covered by CYE, we strongly advise that parents ensure these are covered either by their existing household insurance or that a specific policy to cover their time at the Centre is taken out. A policy can be purchased from Access Insurance. Tel: 020 8651 7420.
Sorry but this is not possible. We cannot look after children outside of event hours unless under exceptional circumstances and with prior agreement. If you arrive early you can wait in the car or we can highly recommend a walk around to Cobnor Point along the coastal path – walk out of the car park and you will see a public footpath sign on your left, follow this!
Yes, all staff and volunteers are DBS checked. If you would like to discuss anything to do with our Child Protection Policy, please contact the office.
