RYA First Aid - 1 day course
The RYA First Aid Course is a recognised 8 hour first aid course including teaching on essentials like CPR and the recovery position, as well as practical skills like bandaging wounds and treating hypothermia. You will be instructed by a qualified first aid instructor and be given ample opportunity to practice the skills involved.
RYA VHF Radio - 1 day course
Successful completion of the RYA VHF Radio Course will authorise you to operate a VHF radio fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) on any vessel which is fitted with a VHF radio. It is a legal requirement that to use a VHF radio you must hold or be under supervision of someone holding a valid VHF operators license. The course will enable you to learn radio usage and protocol with training on real radios ensuring everything is just as it would be aboard a working vessel. Candidates are required to provide a passport photo (for licence applications) and must be fluent in the phonetic alphabet as a pre-requisite to course participation.
