[CYE] - Christian Youth Enterprises

CYE Sailing Centre is located within the grounds of the Cobnor Estate, 5 miles South West of Chichester. Occupying a waterfront site within the estate, our centre lies in the heart of a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ on the Bosham Channel, part of Chichester Harbour.

As well as enjoying stunning views, the sailing centre also benefits from the sheltered conditions provided by these waters, whilst still enjoying consistent winds. In fact, you will be spoilt for choice – you can chose to explore (under supervision) some of the gentle creeks or head out into more expansive water, whilst never being far from land – the perfect recipe for safe and exciting watersports. 

The immediate area consists of fields, woodland and farmland, while to the north, the backdrop is the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. 

Nearby villages such as Bosham, Emsworth and Fishbourne provide places of interest with Chichester and Portsmouth only 10 and 20 minute drives away respectively.

Our location means that we can incorporate many unique and interesting features into our programmes. Kayaking and sailing groups regularly find themselves heading towards the pretty village of Bosham for a picnic on the green and a visit to the famous fudge shop.  Alternatively, the pace might be a little more frenetic, with a digital photo Treasure Hunt, Hunt the Leader or Wide Games.

Heading out of Chichester Harbour by sail or motor, the golden sandy beaches of East Head are only 45 minutes away, and a ‘must’ for many groups. Mooring up on the sand, groups can enjoy anything from a BBQ breakfast through to extravagant sand castle competitions and beach games. Alternatively you may simply want to sit in the sand dunes overlooking views to the Isle of Wight and reflect quietly.
